The short version: every new Alexander PCs gaming desktop comes with a Lifetime Service Policy (you never pay for labor on that system) and a Lifetime Limited Hardware Warranty on the core computer. Workstations carry a 3-year hardware warranty instead — but they receive the same lifetime service and technical support from the same people who built them.
This page is a plain-language summary written so you (or anyone comparing builders) can understand exactly what you get. It is not the legal document. Our full Terms of Service govern in all cases.
Coverage at a glance
Gaming desktops and custom builds
- Lifetime Service Policy — no labor or service charges, for the life of the system.
- Lifetime Limited Hardware Warranty on the core computer (all hardware inside the case as originally built).
- Liquid cooling components, including AIO coolers: 3 years.
- AMD video cards (treated as special-order parts): 2 years.
- Other special-order parts you requested: covered for the length of that part's manufacturer warranty.
Workstations — Core Ultra, Intel Xeon, AMD Threadripper
- 3-year hardware warranty on the core computer. Workstations are designed and sold for sustained, high-intensity professional workloads — rendering, simulation, compilation, local AI training and inference — which place far greater demands on hardware than consumer desktop use. For that reason they are warranted on a fixed three-year term rather than the lifetime hardware warranty offered on our gaming desktops.
- Lifetime service and technical support. You can call us about that machine for as long as you own it, and you are not charged labor on covered service.
- Liquid cooling 3 years and AMD video cards 2 years apply here as well.
What the two parts mean
The Lifetime Service Policy is about labor. A customer who buys a new computer from us will not pay for labor or service charges related to that covered system, for the lifetime of the system. It extends to the original purchaser, the original equipment, and subsequent upgrades purchased from and installed by Alexander PCs. Every system we build carries it, workstations included.
The hardware warranty is about parts. It covers the “core computer” — all of the hardware inside the computer case. We warrant to the original purchaser that covered hardware will be free of defects in workmanship and materials, beginning from the date of delivery. During the applicable warranty period we will repair or replace defective hardware at our discretion, using new, used, refurbished, recertified, or comparable parts. Parts may not be identical, but they will be equivalent. Computer technology changes quickly; if a component is no longer manufactured or commercially available, making repair impracticable, we may instead issue in-store credit for the then-current value of the system.
Limits worth knowing up front
- One replacement per major component. Each of the following is limited to one replacement over the life of the system: video card, motherboard, power supply, memory, and storage drive. You may still be eligible to RMA certain components directly with their original manufacturer.
- Lighting is cosmetic. LED bulbs, RGB strips, lighting in case, radiator and system fans, and lighted cable extensions are not material to system performance and are not covered. Individual LEDs can burn out or display colors incorrectly, and conflicting RGB software can cause issues.
- Warranty service does not extend the warranty. A repair does not restart or lengthen the coverage period.
Who is covered
Coverage extends to the original purchaser. Parts purchased or installed separately from a new system must be both purchased from and installed by Alexander PCs to fall under the Lifetime Service Policy, and such separate hardware is covered only to the extent of that part's original manufacturer warranty. Used or recertified equipment is sold as-is, without warranty, unless stated in writing on the original purchase invoice.
Shipping for warranty service
- First 30 days, continental U.S.: ship the system back to us insured for its full purchase price; we reimburse reasonable shipping costs including that insurance.
- After 30 days, up to one year, continental U.S.: you cover shipping to us; we cover return shipping to you.
- After the first year: shipping to and from Alexander PCs is the customer's responsibility.
- Outside the continental U.S.: the customer pays shipping both ways, regardless of when the issue arises.
Systems sent in for authorized service must ship in their original packaging with a copy of the purchase receipt. Replacement packaging can be requested from support for a nominal fee.
What voids coverage
- Repairs, upgrades, or installations performed by anyone other than Alexander PCs — this voids the warranties instantly on the system modified.
- Overclocking any component beyond manufacturer-rated limits by anyone who is not an Alexander PCs technician.
What is not covered
- Physical damage, abuse, neglect, damage caused by shipping, or misapplication of the product.
- Damage from exposure to temperature or humidity extremes, power fluctuations, lightning, or improper electrical power.
- Firmware, driver, or hardware-software changes made after delivery that cause a part to fail. We deliver every system ready to use.
- Software defects. These may be covered by the software publisher; opened software is not refundable.
- Loss of data. Please back up your data before sending a system in — assume all data may be lost during any repair.
Missing items must be reported within 48 hours of receipt. A computer left unclaimed for 30 days becomes the property of Alexander PCs. There are no warranties, express or implied, other than those set out in our Terms of Service.
Starting a claim
Contact us with your order number and a description of what is happening. Most issues are solved without shipping anything — we troubleshoot with you first. If the machine does need to come back, we will walk you through packing and shipping it.
Frequently asked
Does Alexander PCs offer a lifetime warranty?
Yes. Every new Alexander PCs desktop gaming system includes two things: a Lifetime Service Policy, which means you never pay for labor or service charges on that system for as long as you own it, and a Lifetime Limited Hardware Warranty covering the core computer. Workstations are covered differently: they carry a 3-year hardware warranty plus that same lifetime service and technical support.
What does the Lifetime Service Policy actually cover?
Labor. If a covered system needs work, you are not charged service or labor fees for the lifetime of that system. It applies to the original purchaser, the original equipment, and any upgrades you purchased from Alexander PCs and had us install. Every system we build gets this, workstations included.
What is the 'core computer' the hardware warranty covers?
All of the hardware inside the computer case, as originally built. Special-order parts you specifically requested are covered for the length of their own manufacturer warranty instead.
What warranty do Alexander PCs workstations carry?
Workstations carry a 3-year hardware warranty rather than the lifetime hardware warranty on our gaming desktops. Workstations are built for sustained, high-intensity professional workloads that place far greater demands on hardware than consumer desktop use, so they are warranted on a fixed term. Workstations still receive lifetime service and technical support: you can call us about that machine for as long as you own it, and you are not charged labor on covered service. This applies to all three lines, Core Ultra, Intel Xeon, and AMD Threadripper.
Are there parts with different coverage?
Yes, and we would rather you know up front. Liquid cooling components, including all-in-one (AIO) coolers, are covered for 3 years. AMD video cards are treated as special-order parts and carry a 2-year parts warranty. Any other special-order part you requested is covered for as long as its manufacturer warranty runs. RGB and LED lighting is considered cosmetic and is not covered.
Is there a limit on replacements?
Yes. Each of these components is limited to one replacement over the life of the system: video card, motherboard, power supply, memory, and storage drive. Once a component has been replaced under warranty, that component has been satisfied. You may still be eligible to RMA certain parts directly with the original manufacturer.
Who pays shipping for warranty service?
Within the continental United States: in the first 30 days we reimburse reasonable shipping both ways, including insurance. After 30 days and up to one year from purchase, you cover shipping to us and we cover return shipping back to you. After the first year, shipping both ways is the customer's responsibility. Outside the continental United States, the customer covers shipping both ways at all times.
What voids the warranty?
Repairs, upgrades, or installations performed by anyone other than Alexander PCs void coverage on that system immediately, as does overclocking beyond manufacturer-rated limits by anyone who is not an Alexander PCs technician. Physical damage, abuse, neglect, shipping damage, liquid or environmental damage, and damage from power fluctuations, lightning, or improper electrical power are not covered.
How do I start a warranty claim?
Contact support with your order number and a description of the problem. We will troubleshoot with you first, because most issues are resolved without shipping anything. If the system does need to come back, we will tell you exactly how to pack and ship it, and systems must arrive in their original packaging with a copy of the purchase receipt.
